Casa do Governador

Casa do Governador is truly a hidden gem. Situated on an expansive grape and olive farm in the beautiful plains of Alentejo, you will never want to leave.The staff was friendly and accommodating, but the real reason to come here is the seclusion and beauty of the space. I stayed in the main house, but there were a few private villas on the property that I would book if I were to return with friends/family. I was amazed to find that that there are Neolithic menhirs and a funerary set (tomb) on the property. No need to even leave! (Although the Almendres Cromlech is worth a stop).The bed was very comfortable and breakfast delicious each day (warm croissants and eggs to your liking).I spent hours at the two serene pools, one with a beach-like gradual entry. Plenty of chairs and shade. My room was spacious and very clean. Sitting outside and watching the shooting stars at night was sublime. Don’t think, just book it! Thank you Casa do Governador for the amazing stay.
