I left Star Motors shaking in fear after my meeting with the owner. My 40 kilo male dog was skaking. I was there from 8.40am until after 6pm. Nothing could be done, apparently, until the owner turned up. So I waited all day. Shameless disrespect. I went to the Italian car dealership next door. and they called my friend to come collect me. They were wonderful. My phone battery had died, so they called my friend, CLAUDIO SOLOMITA(who now the owner says is spam - he spoke with him multiple times?!), to come and collect me, and one man from the garage stayed with me until my friend arrived as I was scared of Star. I'm an Irishx investment banker from London. I don't frighten easily. Luckily, I was able to call a VW dealer in.. Ireland..that island off the west coast of Europe to get a part shipped. The garage in Ireland had to order the part in from Europe, as they did not have it in stock. Star Motors told me the part would take 3 weeks as it was impossible for such a, basic and standard, part to be found for my Golf in Europe. Interestingly, my mechanic friend, Claudio, who had been very assertive with Star - but he is male - called VW in Torres Vedras later and he was told they could have the standard Golf part in half the time. Obviously, Ireland has some special, leprechaun, power to be able to get the parts in a similar time. In the meantime Star said they would rent me a car for €50 a day - not bad money for them for 21 days. And, no, I was not going to be dragged out of a car at nearly 6pm by the owner and forced to sign a document to say I would not hold them liable if the car broke down - that legal training (7 years post High School training and a Masters in Law) kicked in. I told him I knew the law and was not going to sign any such document. He threatened me with lawyers - a woman in her 60s being abusive" to refuse to sign a document to allow them to do anything to her car without any comeback!! Intimidation.
